Fourteen women arrived to race tonight, and, upon arrival, the level of anticipation for fast times was as high as the wind speed was low. However, just as we were awaiting the start of the watches, somebody up there on the northwest turned on the blowers and a few of us began to chuckle at the aptness of the challenger's scheduling. Regardless, there were 5 people who improved upon their previous best 2006 WTT performance, and two of those, Minime Florence Laplante-Lamarche and Cadet Stephanie Clarke had database bests. With her time tonight, Florence also set an all-time WTT best for her category. Currently the only faster Female Minime results were two times (25:22 and 26:39) attained in the OTT series by Stéphanie Dumoulin in 1998!

Note that there are just two more WTT events before the final Invitational. In order to qualify for series prizes, females must finish at least individual five 15km WTT events in 2006 before the Invitational WTT.
